Edmonds Remodel

The main change to this staircase was replacing the old carpet with brand new oak wood. Having treads and risers in wood makes it look seamless and rich, so we opted to just keep the existing railing and paint it a sleek matte black. We added an interesting light fixture that fits the proportion of the landing and completed the ensemble with a modern walnut console and mirror.

Fringe Hair Salon Interior Design

This is a new hip hair salon that opened as the pandemic was finally under control. The space was completely empty. The interior walls weren’t even there. For this project, I worked with the client as interior designer and client representative. We had a lot of fun working together and she is a fantastic businesswoman that I truly admire. Staying on the budget was a challenge. A bigger challenge was the spacial planning. Providing enough space for everybody to work comfortably, while clients are also comfortable while seated. Working in this commercial space I learned a lot more about lighting and construction permits.
Of note: the stunning natural finish selected rift cut oak herringbone front wall; the porcelain slab and quartz counter tops; the custom wallpaper; the pendant lights in 3 different sizes; the art and photographs of people that inspired us (Frida, Bruce Lee, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Jane Goodall, Jimi Hendrix).
If you want the best hair style of your life and hang out at a cool spot, go visit Fringe Hair Salon.

Ballard Seattle Master Bedroom

This room is in a typical Ballard town home. It was built with a “less is more” mindset. My client wanted a romantic master bedroom. We started by adding wood trim to the windows, a beautiful chandelier, framed art and pictures on the large walls. On the focal wall we applied vintage looking rose wallpaper. We layered window treatments with roller shades, sheer layers and beautiful raw silk draperies with jewel tie backs. We combined light oak furniture with white paint and added texture with the bedding.

Green Lake Wine Room

What was once just storage under the stairs, became a chic wine room. This client has eclectic taste with a soft spot for unique and uncommon. The black bunny wallpaper is what started the design; combined with a reproduction of a Picasso painting and the carved words of Poe’s Raven on the steel wine storage, it gave to this Wine Room that surprise effect we were looking for. The sloped ceiling has been clad with natural cork tile mosaic and as you open the secret door to the wine room, the scent of cork reminiscent of an old cellar fills the air and welcomes you.
