Shilshole Remodel Secondary Bath

My client fell in love with the wall accent tile. The contrast of the warm concrete look and light blue varnish that looks almost like a paint spill, is what she liked about it. The tiles have 6 different designs, and I wanted a cohesive look that enhanced the tile without looking busy. The lay out design was difficult, but worth it! We finished off with a neutral Brazilian Quartzite on the counter and shower bench, wood cabinet and beautiful sconces that bring back an Asian theme consistent throughout the house.

Comfortable, practical, clean with a lot of storage. This bathroom was a complete addition. I started from the tub location. I wanted to open the pocket door and have the tub centered under the window with a sleek tub filler. We have symmetric pony walls, one in front of the other, one provides privacy for the toilet area, the other one privacy for the shower. The rhythmic pattern of the black lookalike slate accent on the walls gives a little movement to the design. Again, for this home, a little Asian influence in the overall look and light selection. Heated tile floor and medicine cabinet with integrated outlets, USB & C are some of the perks you can’t see from the pictures.

A touch of old and a touch of blue. I love the dark rich wood floating cabinet, I designed it to be reminiscing of a reclaimed Italian farm style piece, that marry so well with this Seattle home. The floor is a Carrara hexagon, just like the counter tops. The backsplash and sink edge details together with the plumbing are very refined and elevate the entire design.

I love wainscoting! Not only helps with cleanability (and this being the children’s bathroom can certainly use it), but treating dry walls with tile adds so much more interest. In this case, the wainscoting in tile is what tie the entire room together. A bright aqua blue tile hue paired with white and pale gray, makes a very suiting pallet. The fir wood at door and windows, add warmth.

Blue Zellige tile in this retro primary bath. Paired with Carrara Italian Marble slab pencil rail, floor and counters. The Rohl plumbing in brass finish and retro style paired with the cool tone palette looks truly fantastic and evocative.

Full gut bathroom remodel, lux and loud in all right ways. During demolition, we found unexpected square footage and were able to increase the shower footprint and that was one of those sweet surprises! The new palette features striking Japanese black hexagon tile, grounded by pinwheel mosaic walls that flirt with geometry. We balanced the vibe with large-format solid white tile for contrast and calm. Delicious Crema Delicato Marble counter top with floating waterfall, custom monolithic matching marble shower bench, over sized rain shower head in black matte to match the rest of the plumbing, mirrors with integrated led light and a custom vanity painted to match the blue accent in the pinwheel. The details you don’t see: the floors are heated, the vanity has maximum storage and the lighting in the bathroom is perfect, due not only to the can lights and integrated light in the mirror, but to the perfect paint color.

I can’t get enough of this Zellige blue tile! That retro` feel with modern details, I just love it together! The brass plumbing is a great complement to the blue and the white floor and counter tops with floating waterfall provide the needed contrast. Where you see the shower, there used to be a tub, we opened the space without changing the drain location. Storage was increased with better doors at the linen closet and open shelves in the shower back niche.

The remodel of this powder room was done on a budget. We had several unforeseen expenses in the rest of the project and opted to scale down the powder bath. Sometimes a dramatic paint color and big contrasts are enough to refresh a small space. The wall color is one of my favorites: Benjamin Moore Notre Dame, the blue undertone is deep and looks almost purple on the walls, it picks up perfectly the veins in the Dolomite counter tops from Brazil, called Super White. We were lucky to find a remnant with leather finish. The vanity is off the shelf, a warm walnut wood, brass accent on light, mirror and plumbing fixture and hammered iron cabinet hardware that replicate the stone countertop pattern.

I just can’t get enough of the Zellige Tile! The point of green of the ceramic wainscoting is deep luxurious and it has enough variation to look weathered and so it fits the application in this historical home. The floors and the shower upper walls are Calacatta Marble hexagon mosaic, the tile is framed with gold trims. The pedestal vanity shows off the tile behind, and the metal combination is unexpected. I do love the Chinoiserie paintings on the wall, framed in a rich wood frame. The point of green matches precisely the tile and brings the room together. It’s hard to tell from the finished pictures, but the most difficult part of the job, was to frame and re-frame the walls to accommodate the very unforgiving tile design (yes… mine…). Props to the VCG team!

If you know me, you know that natural stone is my passion. Because this is a historical home, I was able to use one of my favorites, truly classic marble. This is a Bianco Carrara marble in subway tile on the wainscoting, capped with matching Ogee chair rail and on the floor, a beautiful basket weave mosaic of Bianco Carrara and Bardiglio Marble. On the countertop, we used a Carrara Marble slab that we acid washed, to get a little vintage look. Grey Oak cabinet, solid brass faucets and accessories, a vintage original painting, simple crackle ceramic light fixture and this room, that was once a cramp bathroom, became a sumptuous powder room! Thank you to Vertical Construction and the great stone setter on site!
Sunset Hill Bathroom Remodel

No, you are not in Bourgogne, you are still in Seattle! This room was an office and now it’s a large en suite bath with French countryside old flair and all today’s comforts. In floor heat, towel warmer, separate toilet room, large linen storage, extra-large shower, custom solid oak vanity, textured matte quartz counter top, matte black quality plumbing fixtures etc. And the tile work, the meticulous lay out, the offset Italian mosaic on the shower floor. It’s just fantastic!
East Side Guest Bath

This guest bath doubles as a powder room and we wanted the design to reflect that. The monochromatic color scheme is classy, timeless and the texture of the materials add interest to the design. The trim work color in the house is a British grey and because the pallet in the bathroom is taupe, we needed the countertop material to bring everything together. This natural stone vanity top is the perfect choice, with an oatmeal background color and grey/blue linear pattern that accentuate the waterfall.
East Side Master Bath

Arabescato Corchia from the Apuane Alps in all its beauty is showing on the slab walls of this master bath shower. Flat black penny tile on the floor effortlessly accompanies the marble walls. The beautiful custom marble niche becomes a feature in the shower. The same Italian marble is installed on the vanity, waterfall, and windowsill. The marble slab baseboard frames the master bath and the toilet room. The transition from the walnut wood floor to tile floor is very clean with metal trim.
East Side BOH Bath

Simplicity is key. Rectified white porcelain stacked installed on all walls up to the ceiling. A honed & filled black Basaltina counter top and waterfall with a linear light fixture are all that is needed for this utility bath. The dark grey porcelain tile floor in large brick patterns follow into the back hallway to the garage door.
