Edmonds Remodel
It was fun to choose furniture for this project! The client taste is elegant and contemporary, but everything also needs to be functional for their family needs, their toddler and their guests. We decided to use a rug in the living room that can be easily washed in a washing machine and chose an easy to clean fabric for the sofas. We have two sofas facing each other providing ample seating and an open view patio door to the fireplace. Our color palette is a 2-tone dark and light cool gray, with 2-tone dark and light brown from the oak wood floor to the deeper richer brown of walnut furniture. To note are the Italian retro design black dining chairs paired with a modern dining table.
Insignia Towers Living Room
It started with the perfect sofa, when we found it, both my client and I just fell in love with it. It is just perfect for her, classy, sleek and modern. Accessorize it with pillows was a lot of fun! We then added chairs and lamps, a large rug, coffee table, a beautiful side table with marble base and my client already had that beautiful canvas that allowed us to add the burnt orange accent color.
The grand finale was the paneled wall. Simple in concept, but it took some time to find the perfect trims and draw the right proportions. As far as color, we always new we wanted it dark, to balance the room, but needed to be rich and still lighter than the custom built quartz fire feature. We found our perfect color and added a little sheen to the final coat. A beautiful vase, branches and candles was all that was needed to make it pop.
Ballard Great Room
This is a new construction town home. The great area is narrow and long. There are concrete floors and stark white walls. The space needed to be warmed up and have a formal but inviting feel. We re-used a Japanese scroll, sofa and cognac leather top coffee table that the client owned was perfect for the dining area. In the living area, curved chairs with wood detail anchor the room. Beautifully framed waterlilies series reproductions over the sofa, flanked by important lamps add colors to the wall. The marble martini table and the round liquor cart continue the modern classic feel. The dining area has a Bauhaus style table and Italian designed fabric covers the chairs. The look is completed with slate leather mats, Jacquard napkins, and a mid-century vase. The TV wall, once white and plain, hosts a temperature-controlled wine cooler with storage above and tasteful wallpaper has added a new dimension to the room.
