Edmonds Remodel
The remodel of this powder room was done on a budget. We had several unforeseen expenses in the rest of the project and opted to scale down the powder bath. Sometimes a dramatic paint color and big contrasts are enough to refresh a small space. The wall color is one of my favorites: Benjamin Moore Notre Dame, the blue undertone is deep and looks almost purple on the walls, it picks up perfectly the veins in the Dolomite counter tops from Brazil, called Super White. We were lucky to find a remnant with leather finish. The vanity is off the shelf, a warm walnut wood, brass accent on light, mirror and plumbing fixture and hammered iron cabinet hardware that replicate the stone countertop pattern.

I just can’t get enough of the Zellige Tile! The point of green of the ceramic wainscoting is deep luxurious and it has enough variation to look weathered and so it fits the application in this historical home. The floors and the shower upper walls are Calacatta Marble hexagon mosaic, the tile is framed with gold trims. The pedestal vanity shows off the tile behind, and the metal combination is unexpected. I do love the Chinoiserie paintings on the wall, framed in a rich wood frame. The point of green matches precisely the tile and brings the room together. It’s hard to tell from the finished pictures, but the most difficult part of the job, was to frame and re-frame the walls to accommodate the very unforgiving tile design (yes… mine…). Props to the VCG team!
Seward Park Powder Bath Remodel
If you know me, you know that natural stone is my passion. Because this is a historical home, I was able to use one of my favorites, truly classic marble. This is a Bianco Carrara marble in subway tile on the wainscoting, capped with matching Ogee chair rail and on the floor, a beautiful basket weave mosaic of Bianco Carrara and Bardiglio Marble. On the countertop, we used a Carrara Marble slab that we acid washed, to get a little vintage look. Grey Oak cabinet, solid brass faucets and accessories, a vintage original painting, simple crackle ceramic light fixture and this room, that was once a cramp bathroom, became a sumptuous powder room! Thank you to Vertical Construction and the great stone setter on site!
Sunset Hill Bathroom Remodel
No, you are not in Bourgogne, you are still in Seattle! This room was an office and now it’s a large en suite bath with French countryside old flair and all today’s comforts. In floor heat, towel warmer, separate toilet room, large linen storage, extra-large shower, custom solid oak vanity, textured matte quartz counter top, matte black quality plumbing fixtures etc. And the tile work, the meticulous lay out, the offset Italian mosaic on the shower floor. It’s just fantastic!
East Side Guest Bath
This guest bath doubles as a powder room and we wanted the design to reflect that. The monochromatic color scheme is classy, timeless and the texture of the materials add interest to the design. The trim work color in the house is a British grey and because the pallet in the bathroom is taupe, we needed the countertop material to bring everything together. This natural stone vanity top is the perfect choice, with an oatmeal background color and grey/blue linear pattern that accentuate the waterfall.
East Side Master Bath
Arabescato Corchia from the Apuane Alps in all its beauty is showing on the slab walls of this master bath shower. Flat black penny tile on the floor effortlessly accompanies the marble walls. The beautiful custom marble niche becomes a feature in the shower. The same Italian marble is installed on the vanity, waterfall, and windowsill. The marble slab baseboard frames the master bath and the toilet room. The transition from the walnut wood floor to tile floor is very clean with metal trim.
East Side BOH Bath
Simplicity is key. Rectified white porcelain stacked installed on all walls up to the ceiling. A honed & filled black Basaltina counter top and waterfall with a linear light fixture are all that is needed for this utility bath. The dark grey porcelain tile floor in large brick patterns follow into the back hallway to the garage door.
